    We have Machine Learning opportunities (Engineers and Researchers) for exceptional candidates at various levels at one of the most prestigious clients within a fast paced, trading floor environment..
    Our client tackles the most challenging Machine learning problems due to competitive nature of the financial markets. This front office machine learning team continuously challenges the status-quo of the conventional approaches in financial services and seek bright individuals to join them in solving hard data science and machine learning problems on large scale complex financial data sets.
    This is not a place where blue sky work will not be used. Here you are making revenue generating tools and models that will go into production.
     
    Responsibilities:

    • Work as part of the front-office machine learning team.
    • Deliver components of data flow and machine learning models from conception to production
    • Share ownership of end-to-end development and deployment of the front-office system
    • Work with large, complex and unique financial data sets.
    • Provide insights to data, build visualisations based on quantitative methods
    • Interact closely with local and global engineering and other front-office teams
    • Work with various technologies including R, Python, Java, C++, Linux, SQL
     
     
    Profile:
    • MSc+ degree in a quantitative discipline
    • Solid programming skills in one of Java, Python, C++ with background in algorithms data structures
    • Full software development life-cycle experience
    • Experience with database languages (e.g. SQL, KDB)
    • Expertise in statistical analysis, stochastic models, multi-variate analysis and / or related fields
    • Experience in statistical tools / languages (e.g. R, pandas / numpy / scikit, Matlab)
    • Experience in building big data / machine learning pipelines
    • Experience in TensorFlow or similar deep learning frameworks (Theano, Torch, Keras)
    • Exposure/background in financial products, front-office background is a plus

The role will involve working with threat defence systems, and the delivery of real-time protection, where perimeter security cannot reach. This is to detect significant breaches, attacks and malicious activity.

    Multiple positions are available within a team that is focusing on providing critical operations and software deployments, to cloud-based and data centre infrastructure.

    The main responsibilities of the DevOps Engineer include:

    • Using Python to develop customer update and telemetry systems
    • Develop automated tasks and features
    • Administration of the data centres, which will include the configuration of various infrastructure devices
    • Using cloud-based software (Azure and AWS)
    • Collaborating with the overall team on various deployments

     

    Experience for this role includes:

    • At least 2-3 years within a DevOps engineer role, and should have previous infrastructure experience
    • Scripting knowledge – in Python. Ideally should have a deep understanding of using this within infrastructure environments
    • Database experience (Elastic Search is critical, and MongoDB is desirable)
