Electrical Package Manager – Hyperscale Data Centre Project (Helsinki, Finland)

A leading European MEP contractor specialising in large-scale, mission-critical builds is seeking an experienced Electrical Package Manager for a major hyperscale data centre project in Helsinki, Finland. This is a key role within a high-performing delivery team responsible for managing the full lifecycle of the electrical systems package-from design coordination and procurement to installation, testing, and commissioning.

Role Overview

The successful candidate will oversee subcontractors and site teams, ensure compliance with stringent safety and quality standards, and collaborate closely with clients and project stakeholders to deliver all electrical works on time, within budget, and to industry-leading standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the full Electrical Systems package from design coordination through to installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Lead site safety initiatives with the Project Manager and Safety Advisor, including setup, management, and closure of project safety files.
• Foster and maintain a strong Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) culture across the team.
• Work closely with the Project Manager, consulting engineers, and client teams to maintain and meet project schedule requirements.
• Manage all costs relating to the electrical package, including:
  • Electrical project team and subcontractors
  • Material procurement and goods receipting
  • Plant and equipment
  • Variations, valuations, and cost tracking
• Oversee daily site operations, ensuring adherence to organisational policies and procedures.
• Supervise subcontractor activities, tracking progress and manpower against programme.
• Maintain the internal snagging system, coordinating weekly updates and distributing punch lists to subcontractors.
• Submit direct labour and subcontractor hours for central tracking.
• Participate in project meetings, including planning, engineering, coordination, and handover sessions.
• Provide weekly cost reports covering orders placed, pending materials, and labour forecasts.
• Issue internal weekly progress summaries based on supervisors’ reports, WBS code progress, risks, and concerns.
• Provide external weekly progress updates to the Project Manager, outlining delays, design gaps, access issues, and progress percentages.
• Manage material logistics—scheduling and tracking deliveries aligned to the project programme.
• Maintain a weekly photographic site diary.
• Carry out additional duties required for successful delivery of the electrical package.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Proven experience in project management on large-scale projects—ideally data centres, pharmaceutical, or industrial environments.
• Strong background in coordinating and delivering complex electrical and mechanical systems.
• Experience managing industrial relations matters.
• Solid understanding of Health & Safety regulations and best practices.
• Experience working on design-and-build projects.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong technical knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
