About the Project
We are delivering a major hyperscale data centre development in Helsinki, Finland, as part of a broader portfolio of large-scale projects across Europe. Our organisation specialises in full turnkey data centre solutions — from design through construction — with in-house expertise across civil, structural, architectural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning disciplines.
With multiple major data centre builds currently underway across seven European countries, we are expanding our on-site team and now seeking an experienced Mechanical Construction Manager.
Key Responsibilities
Project & Client Coordination
- Act as the primary point of contact for all relevant client-side communications (client identity confidential).
- Prepare method statements and risk assessments for mechanical/HVAC construction works.
- Ensure all HVAC deliverables align with project specifications and safety standards.
- Coordinate with the project team to sequence pipework installation in line with programme milestones.
Commercial & Procurement Management
- Review and validate project details at handover from estimating.
- Oversee technical procurement of mechanical equipment, specialist subcontractors, and suppliers.
- Support documentation and costing of scope changes.
- Assist with monthly valuations and preparation of the final account.
Planning & Site Control
- Manage the two-week lookahead schedule with the wider project team.
- Ensure appropriate labour resources are available to meet programme milestones.
- Uphold all compliance and governance requirements, ensuring project delivery aligns with internal and regulatory standards.
Health, Safety & Quality
- Maintain strong Health & Safety performance across all site activities.
- Ensure subcontractors adhere to safe working practices and site housekeeping standards.
- Identify opportunities to improve safety processes and implement enhancements.
Skills & Qualifications
- Relevant mechanical qualification (e.g., B.Eng, City & Guilds, HNC/BTEC, NVQ).
- Previous experience in a mechanical construction management role within an MEP contracting environment (desirable).
- Hyperscale or large-scale data centre experience is a strong advantage.
- Excellent organisational, communication, and time management capabilities.
