Mechanical Superintendent
Location: Central Texas, South of Dallas
An established and rapidly expanding data center developer is looking to appoint an experienced Mechanical Superintendent to support the construction of a major hyperscale AI campus in Texas.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a multi-gigawatt greenfield development, taking a leading role in mechanical construction activities across a substantial data center programme.
The Role
- Take responsibility for day-to-day mechanical construction activities, overseeing site sequencing, workforce coordination, productivity, and subcontractor execution.
- Supervise the installation of mechanical plant and equipment throughout the data halls, including lifting operations, positioning, setting, and alignment.
- Lead field installation of HVAC and critical cooling infrastructure supporting hyperscale data center operations.
- Coordinate mechanical piping installations and equipment connections, ensuring work is completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, and project schedules.
- Work alongside equipment manufacturers, vendors, and startup personnel to support mechanical system startup and resolve installation-related issues.
- Partner with commissioning teams to ensure mechanical systems are construction-ready and successfully transitioned through testing and handover.
- Monitor daily progress, identify construction constraints, and implement solutions to maintain programme milestones.
- Maintain high standards of workmanship, safety, and installation quality throughout the mechanical scope.
- Collaborate with engineering, field management, and QA/QC teams to address technical queries, inspections, submittals, and RFIs.
- Oversee subcontractor resources, labour planning, equipment deliveries, and material coordination.
- Contribute to daily site coordination, weekly planning sessions, and construction lookahead reviews.
Experience Required
- Minimum 7 years' experience within mechanical construction, ideally in a Superintendent or senior field leadership position.
- At least 3 years' experience delivering mechanical scopes on hyperscale data center projects.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical plant installation, HVAC systems, cooling infrastructure, and equipment piping.
- Strong track record leading multiple subcontractors and field crews on large-scale construction projects.
- Knowledge of mechanical installation standards, applicable codes, and inspection processes.
- Previous involvement in equipment startup, system testing, or commissioning activities.
- Ability to manage site execution in demanding environments while maintaining schedule, quality, and safety objectives.
- Available to work full-time onsite in Hubbard, Texas.
Location
