Empiric is recruiting a Senior Estimator for a growing Texas electrical contractor working across commercial and mission critical construction. This is a remote role that plays a central part in shaping how the business bids, with direct influence on its competitive edge.

Locations and travel

Remote (US-based), reporting to the Chief Estimator / Director of Estimating.

What you'll do

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for electrical projects, covering labor, materials and equipment.
• Review and analyze drawings, specifications and scopes of work.
• Work with project managers, engineers and design teams to clarify project requirements.
• Build relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure accurate pricing.
• Carry out risk analysis, spot cost-saving opportunities, and prepare and submit bid proposals.
• Mentor and train junior estimators, and keep the estimating process current with industry tools and best practices.

What you'll bring

• Six or more years of electrical estimating in commercial construction, ideally including mission critical work.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as Accubid, PlanSwift or Syspro, plus advanced Excel.
• A strong understanding of the NEC and industry standards.
• A track record of managing multiple estimates at once and hitting tight bid deadlines.
• The ability to work independently and accurately in a remote or hybrid setting.
• A bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering or a related field. CPE certification is a plus.
